These terms govern your use of ScoutBrief (the "Service"), operated at https://getscoutbrief.com. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. What ScoutBrief does

ScoutBrief generates AI-produced competitor and market research reports based on a description of your business or niche that you provide. Reports are generated using large language models and web-derived information, and are intended as a research starting point, not as verified fact, financial advice, or legal advice.

2. Accounts

You need an account to generate and save reports. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide a valid email address and be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.

3. Free and paid usage

New accounts receive one free report. Beyond that, reports can be purchased individually or through a monthly subscription, as described on our pricing page. Prices and what's included may change; we'll display current pricing before you buy.

4. Payment and billing

Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our merchant of record, which handles billing, currency conversion, and tax collection on our behalf. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service to build a competing product by systematically scraping or reselling our output at scale; attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Report accuracy

Reports are generated automatically and may contain errors, outdated information, or inaccuracies, including about named companies. We flag information we can't independently verify where possible, but you should independently verify anything you intend to rely on for a business, investment, or legal decision.

8. Intellectual property

You own the reports generated from your own inputs and may use them for your own business purposes. ScoutBrief retains all rights to the Service itself, including its software, design, and branding.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently or abusively.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScoutBrief is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
